Linux is one of the most popular operating systems being widely used in modern IT industry. It is a free & open source software program available under the GNU General Public License. The most used & favorite distributions of LINUX are : CentOS, Ubuntu, Fedora & Debian. Red-Hat is also a Linux distro but available now on a license purchase.
